For 20 years, Gerard has been self taught on the drum kit - Taking special care to learn technique, dynamics, and style by listening, studying, and practicing tracks note by note. Growing up, Gerard honed rudiments by participating in his school's orchestra, concert band, and jazz bands. Then, just before high school, he was asked to drum for his first band. Since then, Gerard has collaborated with numerous artists in a variety of genres, rounding out his own sound, improvisational skills, and drumming intuition; preparing him to deliver a solid performance on a stage or in a studio.

As an Educator, Gerard helped to begin a program in college that matched talented musicians with those willing and wanting to learn. Gerard went on to teach private lessons, using patience, listening, and perspective to provide a fun and effective learning experience that pushes boundaries and defines a plan for success.
